In the last word of Jesus local churches have been challenged to take the gospel to four distinct mission fields; their Jerusalem (community), their Judea (state), their Samaria (nation), and the ends of the earth. IBSA is committed to helping churches develop a mission strategy that engages each of these locations.
Approximately 250 of our churches have accepted this challenge and have joined the Acts 1:8 Network. If your church joins this network you can expect to hear from an IBSA Mission Leader at least 1-2 times each month. We will have three goals in communicating with you:
- Share Mission Resources - Books, online articles, webinars, resources from NAMB/IMB, and training opportunities that are available to you.
- Share Mission Opportunities - At IBSA we regularly receive requests for mission teams to serve here in Illinois, North America and International locations. We will pass specific requests on to the churches in our Acts 1:8 Network.
- Share Missions Networking - I have had several opportunities to connect some of our smaller IBSA churches together with churches that have more experience in sending out mission teams. I hope to increase these networking opportunities in the future. IBSA churches working together can become a greater force serving on the mission field and the impact on our own churches back home will be even greater!
