Native American Mission Partnership

In 2013, Illinois Baptists began a North American Missions focus/partnership with Native American Ministries.  We have information to help IBSA churches engage Native American Ministries around the country.  Opportunities for Illinois Baptist Churches include:

Louisiana

Bayou Baptist Association is located about 60 miles southwest of New Orleans in “Bayou Country.”  There are several Native American Churches in this association which are open to mission teams coming to serve with them in this area.

Contact #1: Randall Gill is a NAMB Missionary to Native Americans and serves in the Bayou Baptist Association.  He also helps coordinate Mission Teams coming into this area. He has contacts with several churches and Indian Tribes. Contact him at (985) 232-6314, randallgill@gmail.com

Oklahoma

Sac and Fox Baptist Mission, Stroud, OK.  This church received Illinois Baptist Mission Teams in 2013-14 and is led by Pastor Don Tiger.  He serves the Sac and Fox Indians on this reservation.  Contact Don Tiger at (918) 509-9294 or (918) 347-8030, don_m_tigger@att.net

True Vine Baptist Church, Bristow, OK.  This church also received an Illinois Baptist Mission Team in 2013-14.  Don Tiger (see above) planted this church several years ago and a new pastor is now coming on the field.  Contact Don Tiger for more information at (918) 509-9294 or (918) 347-8030, don_m_tigger@att.net.   Pastor Don Tiger also has connections with many other Native American Churches in Oklahoma and can help direct you to churches with specific mission needs. 

Montana Indian Ministries

Montana Indian Ministries is led by SBC Pastor Bruce Plummer and his family. They serve to reach Montana’s Indians with the Gospel Message.  Bruce can help arrange mission teams to serve in a variety of areas in Montana.  Contact Bruce Plummer, (406) 230-0415, Bruce@MontanaIndianMinistries.org

Alaska

Alaska Missions provides an open door for churches in America to serve and share the gospel in a variety of different settings and locations in Alaska.  Many of their ministry opportunities involve outreach to Native American indigenous groups in Alaska.  Alaska Missions takes care of many logistical details for teams while you bring the people from your church.  This ministry is led by an MSC Missionary of the North American Mission Board.  Mission trip opportunities include: Iditarod Outreach, Mission Anchorage, Artic Men’s Construction, Kodiak Crab Festival, Salmon Frenzy, and Bering Sea Camp Construction.  See more details at www.akmissions.com.  Contact: (800) 794-5450, info@akmissions.com.
