Illinois Baptists to embark on new international partnership
By Lisa Sergent, assistant editor, Illinois Baptist
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. | Illinois Baptists are about to embark on a new international partnership.  The partnership, which will begin in just a few months, will give them a window into a culture very different from there own in East Asia.
Illinois-Bulgaria Partnership ends; goals are exceeded
By Lisa Sergent, assistant editor, Illinois Baptist

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. | After four years of Illinois Baptists traveling back and forth between the United States and Bulgaria, the Illinois-Bulgaria Partnership has drawn to a close.  Fifty-four teams have made the journey; sharing the message of Christ while doing construction, providing medicine and glasses, teaching youth and college age students, prayerwalking, and more.  The final team arrived home on Oct. 12, 2004 after providing eye clinics and examining nearly 600 people and giving out over 600 pairs of eyeglasses.  As the partnership and the year ended, it was time for evaluation.

Twice more ? than before! Jumpstart the New Year
By Ron Hale, associate executive director, Evangelism and New Work Team

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. | Greater results in reaching and baptizing the lost require a change of focus.  Growing churches have a fine focus on doing the basics and covering the bases.  They make sure everything (church activities, meetings, trainings, structure, communications, etc.) focus on ?how? these things will better help them reach the unsaved and unchurched.  Focused churches realize there are costs, consequences, and chances to a plan of action, but they are far less costly than the risk of doing nothing.
