ILLINOIS MISSIONS OFFERING
Illinois Missions Offering
Q&A about the Illinois Missions Offering (IMO) and Week of Prayer

Q: What’s the purpose?
A: To pray for our nearly 100 Illinois Missionaries, and to give specifically to support our cooperative efforts to reach Illinois for Christ.

Q: When should churches observe the IMO and Week of Prayer?
A: The suggested dates this year are September 23-30, but churches can conduct a week of prayer and take-up an offering whenever is best for their church. Many churches today conduct one offering a year for all special missions efforts and then divide it between state, national and international SBC mission causes.

Q: What was given last year and what is this year’s goal?
A: Last year Illinois Baptists barely missed the goal of $345,000, but we believe we can re-double our commitments and reach and even exceed this year’s goal of $360,000.

Q: What will the Offering be used for?
A: This year’s offering will be used next year to help:
- start 40 new churches and support more than 30 churches started the previous two years,
- train 18,000 IBSA church leaders and provide personal consultation to more than 400 IBSA churches,
- support 12 associational directors of missions and partner with all 34 Illinois associations in assisting their churches to reach their communities,
- mobilize mission volunteers in at least 110 IBSA churches, and,
- support nearly 100 Illinois missionaries.
