Thank you for your willingness to serve as a 2020 camp volunteer. This past year over 400 adults served over 1000 children and students who participated in one of our IBSA camps. To make your application process easier please complete the following steps. You may contact Carole Doom at anytime during this process to help answer your questions.
Step 1 – Download and read the “Frequently Asked Questions” document
This document has been designed to answer the common questions that applicants have discovered during the application process. Follow this link to download the FAQ Document.
Step 2 – Fill out the Volunteer Application
Follow this link to the Volunteer Application form. Please remember to have the correct email addresses for your four references. After completing the application be sure to contact references to request that they respond to the recommendation email from IBSA in a timely manner. After you submit your application you will receive notification (within 24 hours) that your application has been received and is being processed. If you do not receive this notification please contact Carole Doom.
The volunteer application process doesn’t register you for the camp that you are leading. Please make sure that you register to attend the event. It would be helpful to contact the camp director to let them know that you have applied as a volunteer and plan to serve at the camp this year. Your camp director’s contact info will be on your week’s camp information sheet.
Step 4 – Receive conditional approval to serve as a volunteer
During the application process you may be contacted for more information, or updated that a reference hasn’t responded to our communications. You will receive notice when you have been approved to serve during the 2020 season. This approval will be contingent on your completing child safety training with MinistrySafe.
Step 5 – Receive MinistrySafe training link and complete child safety training (Every two years)
Once you have been conditionally approved as a volunteer, you will receive a link to complete your Child Safety Training. (This training is to be completed the first time you serve and then refreshed every two years.) If you do not receive your Child Safety Training link within 24 hours after having your background check approved, please contact Tammy Butler. Please be sure to watch your Spam folder.
Step 6 – Receive final approval to serve
After you have completed your MinistrySafe training, you will receive certification that you have completed your child safety training and you’re ready to serve. Thank you for ministering to young people through this exciting missions opportunity!
