Please plan to join us at the upcoming Assisting Individuals in Crisis, March 14-15, 2019. This is a Critical Incident Stress Management Course (CISM) intended to increase awareness and enhance an individual’s ability to provide effective spiritual and psychological care to survivors in times of loss, disaster, emergency, trauma, and crisis settings.
Cost: This has an individual cost of $50 per person. You must provide for your housing and meals while at the training.
If you are seeking to be certified as a credentialed Disaster Relief chaplain, one of the courses that is required for North American Mission Board endorsement is CISM. To be an endorsed NAMB Disaster Relief chaplain you need the following:
- Disaster Relief 101 (required to be a Disaster Relief volunteer)
- Disaster Relief 300 Chaplaincy (required for NAMB endorsement)
- CISM (required for NAMB endorsement)
- NAMB Disaster Relief Chaplaincy Application Recommendations from the State Disaster Relief director, your pastor, and the state
- Disaster Relief Chaplain.
Whether or you are seeking chaplain credentialing or not, this is a significant tool that will assist you in any ministry setting. pastors, Blue Cap Leaders, and general volunteers will benefit from this training. Taking courses sequentially is not required, but the two training courses are required.
