Illinois Baptist
In the effort to advance the kingdom together, the Mission Team at IBSA desires to cultivate missional partnerships by connecting churches ministering to similar peoples. We have established Mission Affinity Networks to help pray, engage, and celebrate what God is doing together. The outcome of this endeavor is that our communities, in Illinois, are transformed by the gospel at work in all peoples. To the ends of the earth, we proclaim the glory of God so that those who have no access to this gospel hear and believe.

There are 120 unreached people groups (UPG’s) in Illinois. That is 120 people groups who have never heard the name of Jesus, let alone a gospel presentation. Some may even be in your own neighborhoods and cities. Here at the IBSA, we are on a mission to share the gospel with every people group represented in our state. We are called to be Great Commission Baptists, sharing the gospel with every tribe and tongue, making disciples of all nations. Lucky for us, the nations now live right next door.
Of the 120 Unreached people groups in Illinois, there are very few that have been accurately documented, so we are unsure of the exact numbers for many of these peoples. However, we here at the Illinois Baptist State Association do have accurate information on some of these groups, and we have chosen several of these to focus on.

“The harvest is abundant but the workers are few.” Even in our own state, there are hundreds of thousands who have never heard the name of Jesus and even more who have never accepted his free gift of salvation. For every Unreached People Group in the state, there is also a country that they call home, where millions more are without Christ. With such a big task at hand, it leaves only one question; Will you answer God’s call to share the gospel in Illinois, the United States, and even to the ends of the Earth?
If you feel like God is calling you to serve his kingdom, then don’t worry, because we here at the IBSA will be with you and your church every step of the way. Below is a list of many different mission opportunities to reach the peoples of the world. Whether it is joining other Christians in prayer or traveling across the world, there is no small or unimportant task.
“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few.
Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
