Get Away
retreats and trips to refuel
Spending time away from the demands of pastoral ministry is an important practice. It helps reduce feelings of fatigue and stress, and provides space for the pastor to reconnect to the joy of being a child of God. Whether it’s a night out, a weekend away, or a journey, we want to help you step outside the walls of your ministry and rejuvenate.
Personal and family retreats
IBSA offers no cost retreats for pastors and paid staff of cooperating churches. Lake Sallateeska and Streator Baptist Camps provide private lodging for one night retreats for pastors and their families. Meals are not provided, but each residence has a fully equipped kitchen and restaurants are convenient to both properties. Retreats should be scheduled in advance with the camps, and availability is limited during.

pastor and wife retreats
Ministry is hard. And it can take its toll on relationships We don’t have anything to pour out if we are running on empty. The Pursuing God Together pastor and wife retreats focus on replenishing couples spiritually, maritally, and missionally, as they pursue their calling here in Illinois as a team. Held in the Spring and Fall, these retreats provide encouragement, replenishment, and a renewed sense of passion in the pursuit of God’s purpose for pastors and their wives around the state.

international and national trips
Bonds of brotherhood are often forged in the journey. Conversations around a meal at the end of the day, shared experiences ministering, or simply being a ‘foreigner’ with new friends builds comradery as you grow together.Â
We organize group travel opportunities for IBSA pastors. Trips may include learning experiences, like Holy Land tours or Paul’s missionary journeys, mission trip experiences, and short adventure trips within in the United States.
